Essentials Mesh Earrings
Think of these earrings as your beauty armor. Handwoven using the same structure used to create medieval chain maille armor, each pair of earrings contains hundreds of tiny loops that are painstakingly linked together to create a soft, fabric-like mesh. They go from day to evening beautifully; wear them with a little black dress or punch up a plain white tee. An intricate construction technique ensures these earrings will never stretch out or change their shape, so you can wear them again and again and again.
Available in Argentium sterling silver, 14k yellow gold filled, and 14k rose gold filled.
Approx. 2.75" long, including ear wire.
Ear wires will be sterling silver or 14k gold filled. Posts, lever backs and clip-on also available for a $10.00 upgrade charge. Note: clip on styles are available only in sterling silver and 14k yellow gold filled. Sterling will be used for rose gold earrings. Posts will subtract about a quarter inch of length.
14k gold filled does not tarnish. Argentium sterling silver is slow to tarnish. As necessary, clean earrings with a damp cloth, or use a paste of baking soda, mild dishwashing liquid (such as old school Dawn); rub gently over the entire earring, rinse thoroughly and dry on a towel. Apply spray-on hair products before putting on jewelry.
Gold-filled, or gold overlay, is made by heat- and pressure-bonding a thin layer of karat gold to a brass core. The "14/20" or "12/10" notation refers to the industry shorthand describing the resulting material. The first number is the karat purity of the gold used; the second number is the amount, by weight, of gold to the substrate material. "14/20" gold-filled material is made with 14-karat gold and the gold represents 1/20th (or 5%) of the total weight of the material. Karat gold covers the brass surface, making it tarnish-resistant.
- The value of gold-filled is greater than gold-plated because gold-filled has an actual layer of karat gold, not just a microscopic film.
- Gold-filled jewelry lets you enjoy the warm tones of gold at a fraction of the cost of pure gold.
